A local chapter of the Autodesk® Entertainment User Group (AEUG), launched by BREAKIRON Animation&Design. Quarterly meetings will be held at offsite locations throughout the year. The chapter, which is called Triangle AEUG Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, will provide networking, social and educational opportunities for North Carolina digital graphics artists in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Research Triangle Park (RTP) and outlying regions.

The Autodesk® Entertainment User Group (AEUG) serves as a resource and forum for digital graphics artists. We are the Triangle AEUG Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill chapter, bringing together area talent in a casual but professional environment. We talk 3D modeling, animation, visual effects, cool software features and more. We're the digital graphics artists behind the gaming, film, television, medical, architectural and technology industries, as well as many other types of businesses. AEUG User Group Launched in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill Area to Support Digital Graphics Community.

Our Purpose:
At Triangle AEUG, it's our goal to pool and strengthen North Carolina's animation, visual effects and 3D graphics talent. We seek to provide networking opportunities, an upbeat social setting and a place to gain and share knowledge and experience. We also hope to be a talent source for North Carolina industries seeking top-quality digital graphics production services from experienced artists.

3ds Max 2015 Presentation

3ds Max 2015 represents a ground-breaking release that impacts artists/animators and technical directors in every industry as well as addresses several of the top UserVoice requested features and workflow improvements. The numerous performance and efficiency gains within the 2015 release can be felt and taken advantage of immediately and have little to no learning curve.

During this presentation, Gary will focus on 2015 feature highlights including improved workflows for scene hierarchy and
revised layer management, rendering enhancements to iRay & mental ray, animation tools including all four out-of-the-box toolsets for characters, Particle Flow, extended Graphite modeling workflows including the new Chamfer & Placement tools for ‘magnetic modeling’ and also pipeline integration options such as Python support and ShaderFX. In addition, Reality-Capture (ReCap) workflows with an emphasis on entertainment will be explored including ways to sample the real world and use the results as starting points for projects of all scopes and sizes.

 

Maya 2015 Presentation

Maya 2015 is one of the strongest, most diverse releases is years. During this presentation, Steven will be covering a wide array of new features and enhancements including exciting technologies like Bifrost for procedural liquid effects and XGen for populating environments and creating hair and fur. Additional topics will include new character rigging and animation features like Geodesic Voxel Binding and HIK cyclical constraints, a new node based shader authoring system called ShaderFX, as well as nuts and bolts improvements to modeling and UV editing. Additionally Steven will discuss a number enhancements to Mudbox, several of which allow for a much improved, streamlined workflow with Maya.
